2020 Commencement

The Department of Theatre Arts Commencement Ceremony:

The TA ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 2020 at 12:00pm at the Robinson Theatre inside the Miller Theatre Complex (between Villard and McKenzie halls).  Tickets are not required. Doors open at 11:00 am.

University Graduation Celebration (Main Ceremony):
The University Commencement Ceremony will take place on Monday, June 15th, 2019 at 9:30am in the Matthew Knight Arena (commencement map).

Please refer to the commencement website for details on the main UO ceremony.

Important Dates:
April 6th-9th: Grad Fair at the Duck Store
April 10th: Last day to apply for Graduate Degree (apply online)
April 26th: Last day to apply for Undergraduate Degree (apply via DuckWeb)
June 5th:  Last day of Classes for Spring Term (Final Exams: June 6th-12th)

Registration Deadlines:
All students planning on graduating in the Spring must apply to graduate by the appropriate deadline!

Graduate Students must apply online to graduate by Friday, April 10th

Undergraduate Students must apply via DuckWeb to graduate by Sunday April 26th

*If you missed the April 26th deadline for applying for your undergraduate degree, please contact the registrar’s office directly to apply*

Once you have registered via GradWeb or DuckWeb, your name will automatically be printed in the Spring 2020 commencement program.

How do I register?  What time should I show up at the venue?
Registration for graduating major or minor who wishes to participate in the commencement ceremony need to fill out this quick registration survey by June 1, 2020:

Graduates should plan to arrive at the Robinson Theatre between 11:00-11:30am. The TA ceremony will begin promptly at 12:00pm.

I’m not graduating until Summer or Fall of 2020.  May I participate in the Spring ceremony?
Absolutely! We also encourage students who will be graduated Winter of 2020 or will be graduating in Winter 2021 to attend this ceremony if they will not be able to walk in the 2021 commencement.

I graduated in the Fall of 2019 or Winter of 2020.  Can I come to the Spring ceremony?
Yes!  The printed commencement program will include the names of all graduating majors from the Fall 2019, Winter 2020, and Spring 2020 terms.

How many guests can I bring to graduation?
All family members and friends are welcome to attend the ceremony. There is no limit on the number of guests and tickets are not needed.  Guests will be allowed to sit on a first-come-first-serve basis at both the TA departmental ceremony.  There will be plenty of seats available.

What do I need to do for graduation?
Two things:
1) Apply for graduation in Duckweb.  The deadline to apply for graduation in the Spring 2020 term is Friday, April 10th (Grad Students) and Sunday, April 26th (Undergraduate Students).
2) Purchase/Rent your regalia from the UO Duck Store.  You can shop for regalia at the UO Duck Store during the Grad Fair (April 6th-9th) or purchase regalia online (UO Duck Store) starting on April 9th. Graduation regalia is not required for the TA ceremony.

I applied to graduate in DuckWeb.  Is there anything else I need to do to apply?
No!  Once you have applied to graduate in DuckWeb your name and information will automatically be included in the TA departmental ceremony program.
