UO TA Students Win at KCACTF!

Congratulations to Theatre Arts undergraduates!

10 students attended the KCACTF Region 7 conference in Spokane, WA from February 20-24. Students entered work in various categories: acting, costume design, musical theatre performance, playwriting, puppet design, scenic design, stage

management, and theatre journalism & criticism. They also attended several workshops and networking events across the week.

UO students also won several awards or advanced in their participation categories:

–Julianne Bodner won 1st place in Scenic Design for Best of Enemies in the Design, Technology, Management (DTM) Expo for Region 7. As the winner in this category, Julianne will be invited to the national festival at the Kennedy Center.

–Julianne Bodner and Alex Homer won the Don Childs DTM Cross-Discipline Collaboration Award for scenic and puppet design for She Kills Monsters.

–Annie Craven, and her partner Fausto Narsiso Corral advanced to the Irene Ryan Semi-Final round.

–Amy Marie Miller won 1st place for Region 7 in the Institute for Theatre Journalism and Advocacy (ITJA). Amy Marie will now be entered into the national pool of students from each of the 8 regions across the U.S. Out of that pool, a smaller number of students are invited to attend a national cohort event at the Eugene O’Neill Center.
