CONGRATULATIONS to Dr. Zeina Salame!

After an eloquent defense of her dissertation titled “Carried In One Woman: Reflections on Arab American Female Solo Performance”, Dr. Salame was congratulated by her board and many friends and family who have supported her throughout her work. Her Research Interests include Arab American Theatre, Acting & Theatre Pedagogy, Applied Theatre, Site, Gender, Body & Beauty Politics, Identity, Diaspora, Home, Trauma and Performance as Disclosure

Zeina has been an amazing colleague, student, and teacher in the arts. In her time at UO she directed Stage Kiss (2016) and Avenue Q (2018) Assistant Director for SILA (2015) and Ecstasy A Water Fable (2014)
After we work on A Water Fable, Zeina earned numerous awards and scholarships, as well as a teaching participant in the Science Literacy Program classic improv and theatre techniques to help enhance their research presentations.

Dr. Salame is a brilliant scholar and we cannot wait to see what wonderful work she does in the future!
