Congratulations to KCACTF Winners!

This February, the University of Oregon hosted the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) is a national theater program involving 20,000 students from colleges and universities nationwide annually. For 50 years, the organization has served as a catalyst in improving the quality of college theater in the United States.

Six University of Oregon students won awards at KCACTF. Three of the six won major awards and one of those students is being sent to Washington D.C. to represent the University of Oregon in the national conference.

Lauren Burt: Merit Award for Lighting Design “Picnic”

Emily Bolivar: Regional Award for Lighting Design “Peter and the Starcatcher” (LCC)

Zoey Hu: Merit Award for Costume Design “Avenue Q”

Amanda Henney: Regional Award for Scenic Design “Medea”

Maxi Muessig: Robert Edmond Jones Legacy Award for Scenic Design “Iphigenia at Aulis”

Amanda & Maxi also won Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas Awards.

Michael Teague: Barbizon National Award for Scenic Design “The Father” – Michael will represent UO at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC for the national KCACTF conference and also won Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas Awards.
